So, we recently discovered that there will be a further addition to our family – that’s right, D will become a big brother (all being well, of course!). It happened slightly earlier than we would have liked; I was hoping to have at least 2 years between siblings, but 19 months is not too bad… Is it? Heh.
Baby is due 29th December, which is 19 months and one day after D’s date (he was born 5 days late). At the moment, D isn’t ready for that sibling, which worries me slightly. We do have 6 months to adjust and while I don’t want to finish co-sleeping or breastfeeding him before he is ready, I can definitely not fit 2 children in my bed! As for breastfeeding, D only really takes 2 feeds per day now, so I’m sure I will be able to continue with that. My concern is whether D will want to, as the milk changes back to colostrum and another baby gets priority over him… We shall see.
In any case, we have a lot to do before baby #2 comes. The first, and most important thing, is to move house and be closer to family. We will definitely need some help with D in the first few days of the new baby being here, and as all our families live over 200 miles away from our current house, it’s not very convenient. The big problem with moving house comes with our (well, mainly my) job situations, and the fact that there are some problems with our current house that we can’t afford to fix, yet can’t sell with those issues. So it’s all a bit of a mess over here at the moment!
