Last night I decided it was time to turn E forward-facing in the car.
This was not an easy decision, nor one I was wanting to make just yet. I am well aware of just how much safer rear-facing is, and given my regret at changing D round at 18 months, I decided I would go to age 2 and beyond with E, or as far as possible up to the weight limit of her current seat (13kg). Now, she’s nowhere near 13kg nor is she 2 yet. But she is extremely disgruntled about being rear-facing. I have a fight on my hands every time I have to put her in the car, and she hates that she can’t see me or her brother while we’re travelling. I wasn’t going to let this get to me because I believe the benefits outweigh these minor inconveniences, but I thought I’d try it out just once to see if there was a difference. In my mum’s car, where she has been FF for 3 months, there are no fights to get in. No tears, no crying because she can’t see us. Wah :(
The seat is far more fiddly to fit forward-facing so I’m slightly hoping this leads to nothing, but somehow I don’t think that’s going to be the case…
